ABBF (Bible Society of Burkina Faso) is a Christian NGO that works with all Christian confessions and denominations. The main goal is to promote Scripture use among Christians and all persons interested in knowing God.

FEME (literally: Association of Churches and Evangelical Missions) groups together 13 denominations and missions working in Burkina Faso.

SIL International

SIL International is a faith-based nonprofit organization committed to serving language communities worldwide as they build capacity for sustainable language development. SIL does this primarily through research, translation, training and materials development.

Founded in 1934, SIL (originally known as the Summer Institute of Linguistics, Inc) has grown to a staff of over 4,440 coming from over 80 countries. SIL's linguistic investigation exceeds 2,590 languages spoken by over 1.7 billion people in nearly 100 countries. The organization makes its services available to all, without regard to religious belief, political ideology, gender, race or ethnolinguistic background.


The Ethnologue is an encyclopedic reference work cataloging all of the world’s 7,097 known living languages. It is available as a printed book or can be consulted freely online.
